Supreme Directives
" The Regalia as we know it will be retired effective July 1, 2019 there will be exceptions or special cases.
" One common pin should be worn at an event. When the regalia and the new uniform are worn at the same event, the PG-113 pin will be worn by all.
" The new uniform will be at the front of the line and rank, followed by the regalia and rank. The lead Marshall or Commander can wear the regalia in front of the new uniform providing that there is no Marshall or Commander present wearing the new uniform.
Q. The current Color Corp Drill Manual states that the Priest has the final say as to what will be permitted/preformed in his Church. Has any thought been given as to what Supremes position will be for those Priests who state that the only CC uniform that will be worn in his Church will be the regalia. I have been told that there are some Priest (few I am happy to say) that have stated this to the CCC, that they will not allow the new uniform to be worn into their Church because it looks too militaristic.
A. We will obey our Priests. If a Priest does not want a militaristic uniform in his Church, will he ban all military members because he is in the new uniform from attending a Mass in uniform? Our old regalia is a spin-off of the naval uniform of the 18th and 19th centuries yet there is no problem with it? Any member who is refused entry into Church because he is in the new uniform should obey the Priest, but he should contact his District Master. The District Master will make the determination if the Diocesan Bishop should be contacted to discuss this incident and the refusal of the Sacraments over an article of clothing that looks much better than some people wear to Church.
Q. Can the regalia be worn at a funeral home but not participate in the Casket Watch after July 1, 2019.
A. No. After July 12019 there is no cape and chapeaux in the Order. Violators will be dealt with on an individual basis after an appropriate warning.
Q. With the Social Baldric being brought back, is the baldric to be worn over or under the tie?
A. Social Baldric is worn over the tie.
Q. When at a 4th Degree social event and in your new uniform, is the Social Baldric worn?
A. Social Baldric is never worn with the new uniform.
Q. Button down collars are not permissible with the new uniform. Are button down collars allowed to be worn by a candidate and 4th Degree member when wearing a gray, dark blue or black suit?
A. No restrictions on shirt worn with a dark business suit other than color. It should be white.
