SK Michael (Mike) Gauder, the eldest of eight siblings, grew up in Dayton, OH where he attended Saint Anthony School and graduated from Chaminade High School. His family moved to Beavercreek, OH and Mike attended Wright State University where he graduated with a degree in Systems Engineering.
After graduating from college, Mike worked several years in manufacturing before taking an engineering position at Wright Patterson AFB, OH where he spent over 32 years in various positions of increasing responsibility and leadership until he retired in 2012. He is currently working for a local defense contractor and provides on-site engineering and management expertise to the Air Force Research Laboratory.
SK Mike joined Dayton Council 500 in 1985 and became a member of Assembly 815 in 2009. He has served in several leadership positions in both organizations and is a Past Grand Knight and Past Faithful Navigator. He is currently the Vice-President of the Greater Dayton Chapter, and is finishing his term as District Deputy 7.
SK Mike has been married to Lady Carol for 45 years and is a father of three and grandfather of two. SK Mike, Lady Carol, and daughter Joanna reside in Englewood, OH. Time permitting, SK Mike is an Amateur (Ham) Radio operator with emergency response training and participates to keep his skills current.
SK Mike humbly and respectfully accepted the appointment of Ohio District 2 Master after the sudden passing of Master Jack Ritchie, who had assumed the role of Ohio D2 Master just several weeks prior. He requests that everyone continue to pray for the repose of SK Ritchie’s soul, for his spouse Cathy, and for his family.
